| PFLAG to hold Christmas choral program, late Senator Anderson's mother to receive PFLAG honor at December support meeting |
Ballard's Market Street Singers will present a Christmas choral program at the Seattle Chapter of PFLAG's Holiday Meeting, this coming Monday, December 11, from 7-9pm. The late State Senator Cal Anderson's mother Alice Coleman, will be presented with an Honored PFLAG Mom pin. Due to demand by November support meeting participants, the chapter will continue its annual "Getting through the Holidays" group conversation. The meeting is held at Seattle First Baptist Church, 1111 Harvard Avenue (at the southwest corner of the Union/Seneca Street intersection) located on the city's First Hill just northwest of the Seattle University campus. Those persons attending that evening wanting and requesting 1:1 support, will be given respectful guidance specific to their need.
Please mark your calendars now for the three support meetings of the Seattle Chapter of PFLAG: December 25-Des Moines; January 3-Renton; and January 8-Seattle.
The Seattle Chapter of Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays is an organization for the entire LGBTIQQ community. All are welcome to attend--as long as they are willing to accept responsibility for confidentiality at the end of the chapter support meeting(s). Our chapter's support meetings serve to fulfill PFLAG National's mission of providing support, advocacy and education for and to the friends and families of LGBTIQQ individuals in the City of Seattle and in metropolitan South King County. Our South King County support meetings are held at Renton on the first Wednesday and in Des Moines on the fourth Monday of each month.
The Bellevue/Eastside Chapter hosts its support meeting on the third Thursday of each month. A PFLAG Support Meeting can be found throughout the Greater Puget Sound area in every week of the month: Olympia - second Sunday; Skagit/Mt.Vernon-second Monday; Everett and Bremerton Chapters - third Monday; and Tacoma Chapter - fourth Thursday. There are support meetings in Bonney Lake, Bellingham, Friday Harbor and Port Angeles/Sequim as well. Twenty-three (23) PFLAG chapters offer support meetings at geographic locations throughout the state. You are loved by PFLAG!
