Lipstick and Lust
My perspective on the aftermath of the great windstorm,my 'Frank Kapraesque' life, and more in this Lipstick and Lust
My perspective on the aftermath of the great windstorm,my 'Frank Kapraesque' life, and more in this Lipstick and Lust by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

Well my little chocolate sundaes, as I sit here writing this (wanting very much to be somewhere else!), the power in the hallways and stairwells of my building have probably been repaired and this means yours truly won't have to truck her ass up six flights of stairs when she comes home. Because, after lusting over the tasty Matt Damon in 'The Good Shepherd', I won't be in the mood for traversing the dark and creepy stairwells of my building. Which brings me to the first point here, that, yes, Seattle does not treat its poorer citizens any different than what we saw happen after the Katrina disaster. Nope, if you ain't got the bucks, and you live a building run by that most uncompassionate of landlords, then, last week you probably were, like me, S.O.L.

Honey, the outage happened early Friday morning in our building and no one showed up from management until yesterday and, even then, they did as little as their lazy asses could get away with. All I'm sayin' is, the disaster we were supposedly all preparing for happened and the poor folks were out in the cold, as usual, and that's really, really messed up. And no, none of this improved my 'I hate Seattle, a certain 'soap opera vixen', and Christmas' attitude any more. Nope, I think I've officially planted my person in 'Grinchville' this year, having dealt with everything from a missing sweetie, to the glares of certain of our less melanin blessed citizens (especially the female ones, honey blondes are evil, even if they do have more fun!), and missing mail. Yes, if you've mailed me something lately, it's likely my eyes haven't seen it, since 'soap opera vixen' has a new way of irritating my divine self.

Still, with the 'no nookie drought' continuing, and me getting grumpier by the minute--can we say, 'Why aren't there any decent folks to screw in this town?'--I still had time to try some wonderful products that I'll recommend to you right now. First and foremost, if you haven't bought yourself a present and you're more 'in the chips' than I am, then you must indulge yourself with some of the line of Kinerase products (which you can get at my fave store, Sephora), which includes a wonderful 'Under Eye Rescue', 'C Peptide Intensive Treatment' (that works like a toner), and their 'Kinerase Cream' (one of the best moisturizers I've ever used). Talk about a treat for weather beaten skin. Also, do try DHC's delightful 'Mild Cleansing Cream' and their 'Eye Treatment Essence', all of which are wonderful for your skin too.

And, since I know you're going out on New Years--I haven't decided what I'm doing that night yet, but it will hopefully involve sex that'll make my eyes roll back in my head--here are my favorite red lipsticks to get you noticed. My absolute to die for fave is Rimmel's 'Scream', which gives your lips that sexy noir look, and the second is MAC's 'Ruby Woo', an orangey red, which is not for every skin tone, but so, so hot on the right skin type. And, finally, I also recommend Yves Rocher's 'Rouge Fantastique' (which you have to order online from www.yvesrocher.com. And, also, try Nars' 'Diablo' lip gloss as well as that marvelous gold gloss from Bare Essentials, both of which you can find at Sephora. That should get you the spotlight and guarantee a wowee kiss by midnight. Oh, and to smell lovely, try Fresh's 'Jasmine', and you've got the winning combo for a great night.

So, that's about it for now dahlings, and let's all keep our little fingers crossed that 'army sweetie' remembers my phone number and address and makes it for Christmas for some hot, steamy action in the sheets. In the meantime, do check out the new blog of this column, which you can get to by Googling 'Lipstick and Lust,' going to the SGN website and checking on the 'Lipstick and Lust' bullet, or cutting and pasting the web link

(www.lipstickandlust.blogspot.com) into your fav' browser. Have a great and safe holiday and hope all your power outage dramas end well and soon, and that you have someone warm to snuggle with while you wait for Santa. Happy Solstice my pagan luvies, and try to be nice to each other and let's all wish a bank vault falls on my 'soap opera vixen' soon--no death, just a close call, like in the cartoons, ya know, hehe, wink, wink. And do e-mail me at ijanaral@yahoo.com and let me know your thoughts on the blog and the column, and the serial story, when I finally get back to it, now that my cold is finally gone. Au r
