Stone Soup Theatre presents its first original one act play festival, 'Outside the Box,' Thursdays through Sundays, May 17-27, at Stone Soup Theatre (4035 Stone Way N, Seattle). Nine northwest playwrights wrestle with characters that live, or are influenced by situations, outside traditional mores - be it physical, mental, spiritual. Two supposed enemies discover hidden similarities; Plagiarism drives a writer to the next level; Toxic environment wrecks havoc on people's lives in a seaport town; An artist and his model turn the tables on each other; Possibility of danger with a Neo-Nazi causes a recovered alcoholic mother to question her life; People from the future attempt a relationship; Hidden secrets are revealed through a deceased friend; Two people create a different way to stay together and communicate; Wild imagination finds a home at the bus stop. Each night will present a different line up. Featured writers are: Christopher Bailey, Scot Bastian, Lyn Coffin, Patti Dean, Alex Garnett, Wayne Greenwell, Jake Jay, Dickey Nesenger, and PJ Perry. |
