ONE QUESTION FOR ELECTED OFFICIALS
Dear SGN,
Chris Crain's June 8th article, "Raising the bar on 'Gay Friendly'," should be of high interest to all of us. Who our next president is and the effect his/her views on LGBT issues will have on our lives cannot be overstated.
Let's put aside the issues of HRC's bias in its questionnaire, how deeply any candidate of any party is committed to any of our issues; who stands where on what, etc. The one obvious question I want asked of any US Senator or US Representative who seeks the presidency is, "If this is your view on this particular issue and if you really are committed to it, why haven't you introduced a bill to get it done?"
Yours truly,
Bill Dubay

Friends,
Seattle Gay Pride week is two weeks away, and Councilmember Sally Clark and I will be walking together in the two upcoming Pride Parades. Will you be able to walk with us?
Let's meet at 10:40 a.m. in the staging area on Capitol Hill between Broadway and 12th Ave on Saturday, June 23. On Sunday, June 24, meet meet at 10:40 in the staging area downtown between Union and University St. on 4th Ave.
If you can join Sally and me, please let me know by responding to this calling Dan at 206-234-8303. More parades will happen later on
in the summer, so even if you aren't able to walk in Pride with us this
week, please let me know if you join me in others.
Also, Yard Signs will be available later in the summer. If you'd like to post a sign to show your support (for Sally, myself, or both), please call Dan with your street address, and we will drop one off later in the election season.
