Dear SGN,
Thank you so much for all of your support this year with Bat-N-Rouge, our softball extravaganza fund-raiser benefiting the Capitol Hill Alano Club. We so appreciate the help with advertising, promotion, and all-around support. At the game, we had great attendance and our proceeds were over $14,500. We were really pleased with the amount raised, and will go a long way in helping keep our doors open this year.
The Capitol Alano Club is a non-profit organization that provides a safe and permanent meeting place for twelve-step groups in their primary purpose of carrying their messages to those seeking recovery. CHAC was founded in 1982 by Seattle's recovering Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender community. Over 60 twelve-step meetings a week are held at CHAC, and include AA, Al-anon, NA, OA, SAA, CMA and SLAA meetings. These serve the GLBT recovery community, and all people are welcome to attend meetings at CHAC. Over the years, many people have overcome addictions and alcoholism through attendance at recovery meetings at CHAC. These people go on to be vital parts of the community, and put their lives back together.
The Capitol Hill Alano Club depends on the generous support of our members and donors to help fund this essential resource for the community. We couldn't have done it without your support. Thank you once again for your help.
And by the way, the Dykes beat the Drag Queens again. Expect those drag queens to throw down the gauntlet net year. Actually, they'll throw down the opera glove instead!
With much appreciation,
Dane Christensen
President
Capitol Hill Alano Club
Dear SGN,
The Pride activities were enjoyed by many people, parades, music, and a variety of activities.
Many people helped before the big day. Their zealousness helped to make the event a big success from beginning to end.
Take PRIDE IN YOURSELF. We're not alone. Our community in an adverse situation came through like Robin Hood.
Never forget you make the difference.
