CHECK OUT new art shows while enjoying the good weather

With summer winding down, and so many tourists in town, I thought I'd mention a few delightfully interesting art exhibits you might want to check out while you're out there soaking up the sun. First, definitely peep into the new exhibit at Vermillion (11th and Pine, near Purr), 'Even Bad People Need To Eat'. I only got to look in the door, because they were closed the day I went by, but from what I did see, it's certainly worth a looksee.
Also, if you're in the U-District, do stop by Trabant Coffee House and check out the paintings by artist Jake Galm. Bright, pop culturey, the paintings make you feel good and though they're very simple, you might find yourself taking time to really study them if you pop in there for a java or some tea.
Also check out exhibits at Jack Straw Studios/Gallery (on Roosevelt and 43rd in the U-District), and at Viveza Art Experience (2604 Western Avenue). All of these will be up until the end of the month, at least.
