Lipstick and Lust
Under SHA's radar, again, drama for me and The Fabulous Daughter, and trying to date online
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN Staff Writer

Dahlings, what a strange journey it's been under Mercury retrograde (it's now direct my little pretty birds) for this little kitty! First, leaving my 'Lesbian and Gay Film Festival' program guide on my floor in MY apartment, apparently upset some of the tools SHA hired to do that horrid ventilation project in. So, two days after the intrusive visit of guys I wouldn't have spoken to on the street, let alone let in my bedroom at The Digs (they had to go through there to put in the system in my boudouir), the manager call me in and says 'there's been a complaint about the state of my apartment.' Well, my dears, I was inspected, harassed and then, finally ignored. Guess some higher up reminded 'Miss Thang' ·the manager du jour that day, that this one writes for a newspaper, so now I only get those weird looks from her. You know the ones: 'You're Lesbian, oh my! - even though for her info, I'm 'Bi'). What the freak ever!

And while I'm on the subject, to the e-mailer who wrote about similar SHA drama in her building, honey, either move, (like this one is doing), or get in touch with either Radical Women, or The Tenant's Union. Hell, do both and do yourself a favor!

Oh, and if that wasn't enough upset, Hallowe'en weekend, The Fabulous Daughter let this one know that my ex (who is now a best friend forever, after we grew past all the divorce drama of our younger days) had had a heart attack and was in the hospital! Oy vey and then some! So, after a lot of adjusting, some tears, and some running around being super ex and super mom, getting things done that they couldn't do, he's home, a little better and life is almost normal. He's awaiting a possible open heart, but we're taking it one day at a time dearies, one day at a time. Which brings me to a certain caller who needs, on a Sunday morning, no less, to correct this one on her grammar. Dear, do you really think I have time to worry about such small matters at this moment? Not to mention 'army sweetie', who's still in Iraq, my little nitpicker. Honey, thanks, but you need either mass sex, or a hobby. Jus' sayin'.

Ah, and again congrats to the wonderful Craig Ferguson, who not only had Gay horror writer (and one of this one's fave mentors!), Clive Barker (in the wildest pants this one has ever seen on a human being!) on his show a couple of weeks ago, but Gay actor extraordinaire, Ian McKellan on, too. McKellan introduced Avril Lavigne in what has to be the best intro ever. You go Craig, and this one thinks you should be before the homophobic and ever immature Dave Letterman, not after. Maybe someday. Yeah, when America digs its head out of its collective ass and stops catering to bashtv and wants something more intelligent.

Oh, and this one has had three, count them three ads on Craigslist, and believe me, the world of online dating is just as filled with nuttiness as the chatline dating I wrote about in my Seattle Sinner column, 'This, I Shamelessly Tell You', a month ago. Folks mailing pics of their 'things', folks offering to do things for and to me that made me laugh out loud more than once, and of course, delete their responses (nothing says: 'answer me', like body parts and stupid boasts about what you think you can to for me). But, happy to tell ya, there were two who cheered this one up via telephone, after the heart attack of ex episode, and a couple more real cuties who this one gave her phone number to. We'll see if I ever actually meet and greet any of these knuckleheads in The Digs for some 'in the sheets' fun. Keep ya posted! And to the hater who took off my little attempt to bring joy into this unhappy life of mine, shame on you, you bad soul you! Get a sense of humor honey, and move on, girl's got a right to her preferences, 'kay?

So, with all of this going on, did I have any time to try luscious products? You bet dahlings! I tried The Body Shoppe's 'Wisewoman Cleanser' (which really does a good job removing mascara and daily dirt, and leaves one looking fresh and clean), which you can pick up at The Body Shoppe in Pacific Place. Also do try Diesel's new fragrance, 'Fuel', which is delish and bound to get you noticed as we head into holiday season. And if you're wanting a little shine at all of those holiday parties coming up, stop into Sally's Beauty Supply (on Third and Pine), and pick up one of those 'Savvy' lip./cheek/eye pencils. I'm wearing the brown one today with Sephora blue eyeliner pencil and looking quite tasty, I must say! Get the 'Fuel' scent by Diesel at Nordstrom, and while you're there check out the renovations they've done. Very posh and just in time for making you feel special for all of those gifts you'll be giving loved ones this year.

Well, that's it for now my little chocolate honey bars, and do feel free to e-mail me at ijanaral@yahoo.com with your thoughts and any kind words for me, The Fabulous Daughter and my ex. Also, I'm thinking of doing some kind of 'mortgage party/psychic fair' in December to help TFD and my ex with finances, so if anyone wants to contribute time, or a place to hold this shindig, e-mail me at the above. And of course, check out the blog at lipstickandlust/blog, for updates, stuff and the continuing serial story 'Young Blues' (which this one still hopes gets turned into a TV show someday soon!). For now, be safe out there and buhbye!
