Many artists had a banner year in 2007, but we could only choose 10. These men, women and groups not only stood out this year - they looked damn hot doing so. The list is in selective order.
1. Rihanna
With "Umbrella," Rihanna claimed the hottest smash hit of the summer for the third year in a row. Beautiful, sexy and super-talented, '07 proved this girl has staying power! Everyone watched her canoodle with Josh Harnett and grace the covers of numerous magazines for the past 12 months without becoming tacky tabloid fodder. Gay clubs around the world have a new dance diva, and with the help of multiple Grammy nominations she is set to rule '08 as well. R. Kennedy
2. Amy Winehouse
This little British diva has the pipes of the most revered soul singers. She's a very naughty girl with a big, serious voice. Back to Black is still going strong and is a modern classic. Let's hope our girl can keep it together and sustain the long career her talent is worthy of. J. Browning
3. LCD Soundsystem
Sound of Silver is a breakthrough album, hands down. Every fan of great new music should own a copy. James Murphy knows how to create epic music with multiple layers of electronics and live instruments. In concert or on their critically acclaimed second album, LCD is a force of nature. J. Browning
4. Spoon
After several lowbrow years, Spoon hit the jackpot in 2007 with a career-high recording (Ga Ga Ga Ga Ga) and an entire slate of sold out shows. And when it comes to hot stuff, we wouldn't think of kicking tall, strawberry-blond lead vocalist Britt Daniel out of bed. A. Rodriguez
5. Carrie Underwood
Idol champion Carrie Underwood sold 6 million copies of her first album, 2 million of her second, won two Grammy Awards in February and received 3 additional nominations in December - all in a year's work. In 2008, the Southern beauty is touring with Keith Urban. A. Rodriguez
6. Beth Ditto (of The Gossip)
Before it was just "The Gossip," the Gay indie rock band incorporated punk and dance for a totally original sound. This year saw lead singer Ditto, an Olympia native, on tons of celebrity blogs creating a name for herself. Always shocking, trashy, and scantily clad, the plus-size Lesbian rocker trash-talked Gay men for designing clothes that "created eating disorders" for women, spit on stage and made Britney's panty-less antics look demure next to the bare skin she revealed when she squatted on stage! R. Kennedy
7. Silversun Pickups
This LA band is what Smashing Pumpkins ought to have been. Having toured with Wolfmother and Snow Patrol among others, they are so promising I can hardly wait to see what their next move will be. J. Browning
8. Klaxons
Forget that Klaxons took home the UK's prestigious Mercury Music Prize, and that they sold out 3 separate gigs in Seattle, and that they enjoyed huge album sales overseas. What we remember most about these dishy Brits is their bare-chested music video for "Golden Skans." A. Rodriguez
9. Alicia Keys
After giving a mind-blowing performance of her new single and cover of George Michael's "Freedom" on the MTV VMA's, Keys was completely overshadowed by Britney's live debacle. Just when I thought there was no justice in the world, she rocked the charts with her newest release at year's end, earning a number-one album, single, R&B single and digital download, not to mention more Grammy nominations! What a way to close out '07! R. Kennedy
10. Daughtry
He lost on American Idol, but Chris Daughtry formed his own rock band - which produced a double-platinum album and three Grammy nods. Aside from that, the Vin Diesel clone can fill a pair of jeans like no one's business. A. Rodriguez
