Lipstick and Lust
More dating online, and another one 'disappeared' into the world
by Rajkhet Dirzhud-Rashid - SGN A&E Writer

Oh, my lord and stars, children, life has been just too, too interesting for this one of late. Even as I sit here writing, my head all over the place (mostly on the errands for Christmas this one has to do before this day ends), my baby sister is in the hospital after having chest pains. So, this one is giving a book to point her and my middle brother toward the path of health this one has been on for over a year now, for Christmas. Hey, not ready to take that trip to the Southwest for a sad occasion dahlings, eh? Nope.

So that's going on, the Fabulous Daughter is cheering up her online pal, who works - yikes - in retail, and her dad's better after his Hallowe'en heart attack, and this one's been trying to date via Craigslist. Two good dates, one person who turned into a no-show when that one's pushy flirtations were a bluff this one called, and one person who seems to have vanished into thin air. This after we'd planned a meeting, face to face in Tacoma when this one goes there to shop at the Tacoma Art Museum in another week. Yes, it made these brown eyes very blue over this last weekend, but forging ahead, this little kitty put in another ad, and had already started chatting via e-mail with some new possibles. Hey, we're not having a repeat of "rejection-palooza" that happened last New Years Eve honey, fo' sho'! Keep you posted on how this situation goes, dahlings.

And it must be said, that writer who does that little "photo fashion comment" in one of the other papers has about as much fashion sense as my cat does, and honey my cats both have a hella lot of fashion sense (but miss thing in the other paper does not!). And honey, people come in more colors and shapes that you seem to see, and (gasp!), there is life off The Hill, outside the U-District and even out of Seattle. So stop mistaking 'the Seattle uniform' for fashion statements, and try adding some older, people of color to your mix, ya heard? There, now that's off my chest, I feel soooo much better, and we hope that one takes my advice, hmmm.

Also, was watching yet another yummy chapter of The Legacy last Sunday, and was thinking with my big brain that it would be nice if someone put The Outer Limits back on too. Hey, they tease us with it every weekend, so why not? And during that freak snowstorm we had, this one found that watching the new show on NBC, Chuck, wasn't as bad as when I watched it for the first time several months back. Offbeat humor, cute girls and boys, and not too unbearable, snowstorm outside or not. Check it out and see for yourself.

So, with all that's happened lately, did this one try some new products to share with you? Why yes, honey, she did. My fave new thing is the new Lancome Juicy Gelli in Grape Jubilee that this one is currently wearing (and loving, since my lips don't feel chapped like they did a few weeks ago, when this horrid weather first started). Add some sparkle with Urban Decay's line of sparkle powders (in delish flavors, honey!), and you're ready to party, or just turn on your fave store clerk (like that hottie David at Trader Joe's). Then do try Fendi's new scent Palazzo to turn up the heat even more. And of course start your day by applying EDDF's Dramatic Radiance TRF Cream to moisturize and protect your face from the harsh elements of a Northwest winter, and you're good to go.

Ah, and we are praying CBS comes to a worthwhile agreement with their writer's union (currently on strike) so we can see some new Craig Ferguson shows. Though Mr. Ferguson is funny even in re-runs, but Dave Letterman isn't funny even with fresh stuff. Still, it has given this one a chance to catch Reno 911, which is running on "MyQ" opposite Letterman, so it ain't all bad news. Funny, and deliciously Gay, this show had me scaring the kitties I laughed so hard at the "Gay marriage" episode last week. If you need cheering up, check this out.

So, that's it for now, my little stocking stuffers, and be safe and sane out there, since all kinds of meanness seem to be hitting "rat town" of late. Try smiling and stopping to just listen to nature once in a while, then proceed with the shopping and see if that doesn't make things better for everyone. And do e-mail me at ijanaral@yahoo.com with your thoughts about this column and its twin, the blog on bloggerspot.com. Happy, happy buhbye!
