| GLSEN/WA and ACTION NW to hold candlelight vigil in memory of Lawrence King |
This is an action alert to advise you that on Sunday, March 9 at 5:15 p.m., after the Safe Schools Coalition's viewing and discussion of It's Still Elementary from 2-5 p.m. at the Broadway Performance Hall (visit www.safeschoolscoalition.org for more information), GLSEN Washington State, in a partnership with ACTION Northwest, will be holding a candlelight vigil for Lawrence King, the student from Oxnard, CA, was shot and killed at school by a fellow classmate on February 12.
In memory and in honor of Lawrence, and other youth that have been killed due their sexual orientation and/or gender identity, we will be holding a candlelight vigil in front of the Broadway Performance Hall, 1625 Broadway (at E. Pine St.), in Seattle.
Scheduled speakers currently include Commissioner Jerry Hebert from the Washington State Human Rights Commission. Stay tuned to www.glsenwa.org for the latest information on who is scheduled to speak.
