| Mark Jeffries, 46, passed away Monday, December 8, 2008, after a year and-a-half battle with cancer, with his partner Roane Charland at his side. Mark lived most of his early life in Oak Harbor and graduated from Oak Harbor High School. He went on to college at Washington State University. For the majority of his life, Mark worked as a customer service manager for KING 5, PageNet, Microsoft, and finally Helio Cell Phone Company in Los Angeles. Mark moved back to Seattle in September to be near his family and friends in the final stages of his illness. Mark was known to most people as the life of the party. He was a people person and loved life. He touched so many people's lives. Toward the end of his illness, Mark shared with his family that he was at peace and that he had led a happy life. His only regrets were that he was going to miss seeing his nieces and nephews grow up. Mark is survived by his parents, John and Kathy, and his sister Laura and her children Tyler and Sarah, all of Oak Harbor, his sister, Jodi and her husband, Carey and their children Lexi and Brady, of Mt. Vernon, and his partner of 13 years, Roane Charland, of Seattle. Mark requested no services be held. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests any memorials be sent to the local help houses and food banks per Mark's wishes. | |
