Moregasm: Babeland's Guide to Mind-Blowing Sex by Claire Cavanah and Rachel Venning is the brand-new book from the founders of Babeland, which has been the nation's most popular sex boutique for nearly 20 years. From the welcoming cover of cleverly designed breasts and illusion of pubic hair to the last page, which answers the question, "Can sex keep getting better throughout the rest of my life?" this book is jam-packed with information useful to everyone, from an uneducated virgin to someone more sexually advanced.
Don't let the cover fool you; even though Moregasm appears to be geared towards women, it is great for any gender. Not only is the book written for the LGBTQ readers, it is straight-friendly as well. There is Q&A for each chapter and topic, ranging from how to become a better kisser to how to tame that gag reflex. Many diagrams of sexual positions for different sex acts are included for the more visually inclined.
The first chapter begins with all the sensuous zones, including parts that can get forgotten (did you know the skin behind your knees is super sensitive?). Then the book dives headfirst into basic knowledge of the body, and before you know it you are learning all about Kegel exercises and what makes us female, male and Intersex while still in the womb.
The fun doesn't stop there! The chapters range from the "ass-vantages" of butt play to masturbation - even BDSM isn't taboo. Not only does this book help you decide what toy is right for you, but there are guides on dildos and cock rings and even a how-to guide for strap-ons.
You will learn all about safer sex and how to practice it, including condom usage and dental dam dos and don'ts. You will be taught about the sizes, textures and flavors of condoms, as well as when to use lube and what kind. A page on assessing the risks of different sexual acts is shown in an easy-to-understand diagram and includes information on STIs, such as what they are, how you get them, and how to live with an ongoing STI.
This book expresses how important communication is between partners during sex. Moregasm makes some great points - learning what turns on your partner and vice-versa keeps sex from becoming routine. Have you ever wondered how to bring up sex outside the bedroom? Or even how to talk dirty? All of this and everything in between is covered.
What makes this book different from the average sex guide is that it discusses your emotional state through its Q&A sections. The questions asked on the topics of aesthetics and insecurities have crossed many minds, and good positive image is reinforced in the answers. For the approximately 10% of woman who have never achieved an orgasm, there is a two-page answer for the question, "What's stopping me from coming?"
There will be a launch party for Moregasm on February 3, at Babeland's Capitol Hill location, 707 E. Pike St. Come out to the free event to hear the "Babeland Bill of Rights," play games, win prizes, and enjoy refreshments from Marination, Trophy Cupcakes and Bear Flag Wine as DJ Status Apparatus spins the party. Make sure to RSVP by February 1 at babeland.seattle@babeland.com!
All in all, Moregasm educates, encourages you to love your body - no matter your shape, size or identity - and teaches you basic to advanced sexual techniques while also answering questions that lots of people have but don't know how to ask with colorful, sexy pictures, visual aids, and instructional how-to guides. Moregasm is an entertaining page-turner, so be sure to pick up a copy, because as the book states, "Why settle for less-gasm?"
